A full day at the MAS Conference. It started with a murder – poor George Thorn, it was a hard act to follow, but he handled him self brilliantly. After George’s keynote speech, he moderated a fabulous a panel with Ian Case (Intrepid Theatre, Victoria), Diane Roberts (Urban Ink) and Max Reimer (Playhouse Theatre). Then lunch at Da Fabulous Klub, back for afternoon breakout sessions, a diversity panel, and, as if that wasn’t enough, a truly wonderful interview – Jerry Wasserman interviewing Janet Wright (of Corner Gas fame). Janet was witty, smart, straightforward and utterly delightful. Jerry was the perfect interviewer (thanks Jerry for a fabulous job). Janet confirmed that George Clooney is an absolute doll (you can see her with him in Perfect Storm) and she shared truly hilarious stories from her years on the stage. Very inspiring!
After conferring with Sally Bunk (remember our detective from an earlier post), we were told that Dwendolyn’s body has been found, and that much more will be learned about her death tomorrow. We are to continue taking copius notes on any suspcicious activity in our SHAPE notebooks (BTW – SHAPE has a fantastic swag store set up in the front lobby – check it out!)
The day ended with Sue Porter presenting the Volunteer of the Year Award to Regina Ogmundson. Regina has been a consistent and tireless volunteer who has been indispensible to the GVPTA admin office. Kudos and thanks to Regina!
Another action packed fun filled day planned or tomorrow.
Anyone else who was there today have anything to add to my recounting? Feel free to hit reply and post your comments here.
